Project Description

This project consists of adding a left turn lane for southbound traffic on Ardmore Avenue turning eastbound onto Sand Point Road. This left turn lane will help alleviate vehicle back-ups that occur for southbound traffic while waiting for left turning vehicles. The pavement will be widened approximately twelve feet (12’) to incorporate the taper and turn lane.

  • New concrete curb and gutters will be installed with the new pavement.
  • Approximately 750’ of Ardmore Ave. will be milled and resurfaced along with 150’ of pavement on Sand Point Road.
  • Minor stormwater improvements by way of concrete curb turnouts will be installed as well.
  • Expect traffic delays due to the closure of Ardmore Ave. and Sand Point Road. The closure on Ardmore is expected to last anywhere from 4-6 weeks while Sand Point could potentially be closed for an additional five (5) weeks.
  • Please use the posted detour route of Engle Road, Bluffton Road and Lower Huntington Road.
  • Drive slowly and cautiously through the jobsite once lanes are back open – especially when the contractor is on-site working!
  • It will be dusty and dirty.
  • Do not move barricades. The contractor will move them once the road is open to traffic. Moving barricades or barrels and/or disturbing cordoned-off areas is cause for fine(s) per City Ordinance 99.007.
