Project Description

The Bluffton Road – St. Marys Riverbank Resilience Project aims to stabilize 2400’ of the west bank of the St. Marys River to prevent erosion threatening Bluffton Road and adjacent infrastructure. Using nature-based solutions like riprap armoring, native vegetation, and stream structures, this project will protect critical transportation routes, trails, and community amenities while addressing challenges from climate change and extreme weather.

This Project will also include:

  • Curb and gutter
  • Storm sewers
  • Pedestrian infrastructure
  • Street lighting

What to expect during construction:

  • Sections of Bluffton Road may be reduced to one lane
  • Pedestrian pathways may have limited access
  • Efforts will be made to minimize disruptions.
