Project Description

This project will include expanding the refuge island to make a dedicated right turn for northbound Bluffton Rd, as well as moving the stop bar closer to the intersection. Landscaping will be added to expand the island with the east/west path across Bluffton Rd being moved further north. There will also be updates to the pedestrian infrastructure to include pedestrian buttons and ADA curb ramps.

What to expect during construction:

  • Expect traffic delays due to the possible closure.
  • Driveways may be inaccessible on the side of the street that is being worked on. Depending on the weather, this can range from 3 weeks or more.
  • Do not drive on newly poured concrete until such time that the contractor has removed restricted access items (caution tape, barricades or barrels) as doing so will weaken the concrete potentially damaging it. It will be the homeowner's responsibility to repair damage to the drive approach if driven on early.
  • Drive slowly and cautiously through the job site, especially when the contractor is on site working.
  • It will be loud, dirty and dusty.
  • Once the topsoil, grass seed and mulch are applied it will be the homeowner's responsibility to water the restoration areas to ensure proper, adequate grass growth.
  • PAY ATTENTION

    AVOID DISTRACTIONS!

Be aware of all signage and reduced speeds. Avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating/drinking, and radio.

  • BARRICADES

    DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES!

The contractor will move them once pavement passes testing and can withstand vehicle weights.

  • WORKER SAFETY

    BE PREPARED TO STOP!

Slow down and give workers extra room. Drive cautiously through the jobsite especially If workers are on site.
