The Brewer Park Redevelopment Project in the Mount Vernon Park Neighborhood is underway; the design team is completing construction documents based on the Brewer Park Master Plan developed by the Park’s Planning staff in coordination with the surrounding neighborhood.

The newly renovated park will feature:

• Two new playgrounds
• A new splash pad,
• Covered pavilion
• Park restrooms.
• A ¼ mile perimeter walking path
• Two new basketball courts
• New pedestrian connections to the neighborhood.
• Significant landscaping improvements including planting of shade trees, ornamental trees, and a new art garden.
  
  

The Board of Park Commissioners, Mayor Sharon Tucker, FWPR Director Steve McDaniel, community leaders, funding partners and representatives of Mount Vernon Park celebrated the beginning of a new era for the neighborhood with a ground-breaking ceremony for the redevelopment of Brewer Park.
