Project Description

This last phase of construction on Diebold Road at N. Clinton will include a new signalized intersection and adding designated left turn lanes. It will also improve traffic flow in the area, as well as expand pedestrian mobility north connecting to several businesses, existing sidewalks and trails.

Upon completion of this project, our next joint efforts will focus on the expansion of North Clinton Street.



  • New sidewalk construction on the east side of Diebold Road connecting to the existing sidewalk at the roundabout with ADA curb ramps.
  • New trail construction on the west side of Diebold Road, making the connection at the roundabout. This allows connection to the Parkview Medical Campus.
  • Improved drainage on the corridor including a mile of storm sewer improvements
  • New water main Installation for Fort Wayne City Utilities
  • New traffic signal with dedicated left turn lane
  • Extensive utility relocations are required including AEP Transmission and Distribution, NIPSCO, Frontier, Zayo, City Utilities, several fiber lines
  • New street lighting
  • New curbs and subsurface drainage

SAFETY is our TOP PRIORITY

  • Use caution and Drive Slowly
  • Road Closure will be required to complete the improvements needed for approximately a 60-day duration.
  • Expect traffic delays, use an alternate route whenever possible.
  • Just because the road is open doesn’t mean work is complete.
  • Respect Traffic Signs & Barricades. Do not move barricades, barrels or any items on the construction site.
  • Residents/Businesses will have access during construction but could be asked to alter entrance/exit ways.
  • PAY ATTENTION

    AVOID DISTRACTIONS!

    Be aware of all signage and reduced speeds. Avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating/drinking, and radio.

  • BARRICADES

    DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES!

    The contractor will move them once pavement passes testing and can withstand vehicle weights.

  • WORKER SAFETY

    BE PREPARED TO STOP!

    Slow down and give workers extra room. Drive cautiously through the jobsite especially If workers are on site.
