The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department, on behalf of the Fort Wayne Board of Park Commissioners, engaged Design Workshop, a world-renowned landscape architecture and park planning firm, to work with Park's planning staff to develop a comprehensive plan for the park system.

Over the past year, the City of Fort Wayne’s Parks and Recreation Department has been working to develop the Fort Wayne 2024 Park System Comprehensive Plan. The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Plan Draft has been circulated for review. We appreciate all of the valuable input we received and are appreciative that you wanted to be part of this transformative process.

Your feedback will directly influence the decisions that shape the future of our parks, trails, facilities, and recreational programs. By participating in the planning process, you joined a network of passionate residents, stakeholders, and decision-makers united in their commitment to enhancing our community's recreational assets.

The Draft plan is featured below and will be highlighted and voted on at the August Park Board meeting.
