Project Description

The final phase of the 4.5-mile long Hanna Street Trail from Downtown to Tillman Park and Southtown Centre will be constructed in 2025. This eight-foot wide concrete trail will be constructed on the east side of Hanna from Wallace to Berry for a length of 0.74 miles. The trail project will include pedestrian signal upgrades at intersections with traffic signals. New street lights will be included. ADA improvements will be made at all intersections, as well. The trail will connect to the Berry Street sidewalk and bike lane, allowing trail users to access many destinations downtown, including the Rivergreenway and many of the 107 miles of trails in Fort Wayne. Over 41,000 residents live within a 1/2 mile of the 4.5-mile long Hanna Street Trail. Twenty schools and 19 parks are located within 1/2 mile of this trail. The project will likely be bid in March with completion this fall.
