Project Description

Reconstruction of the concrete road will include removing and repouring new concrete. Placement of underdrains and yard drains throughout the project to improve drainage will be included as well as ADA sidewalk ramp updates at State and Inwood, curb ramp upgrades and tree removal as required by new construction followed by restoration of disturbed areas.

Before Construction

  • Expect traffic delays due to the possible closure of either portions of Inwood Drive or the entire length of Inwood Drive from E. State to Lake Ave.
  • Driveways will be inaccessible during the removal and pouring of new concrete drive approaches. Depending on the weather, this can last upwards of (3) weeks or more. Do not drive on newly poured concrete approaches until such time that the contractor has removed restricted access items (caution tape, barricades, or barrels), as doing so will weaken the concrete and damage it. It will be the homeowner’s responsibility to repair damage to the drive approach if driven on early.
  • Drive slowly and cautiously through the job site, especially when contractors are on-site working.
  • It will be dusty, noisy, and dirty.
  • Do not move barricades or cut caution tape. The contractor is responsible for removing them once it is acceptable for the new concrete to be driven on. Moving barricades or barrels and/or disturbing cordoned-off areas is cause for fines to be levied against the offender per City Ordinance 99.007.
  • Trash bins will be picked up at a yet-to-be-determined location.
  • Once topsoil, grass seed and mulch is applied it will be the homeowner’s responsibility to water the restoration areas to ensure proper, adequate grass growth.
  • PAY ATTENTION

    AVOID DISTRACTIONS!

Be aware of all signage and reduced speeds. Avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating/drinking, and radio.

  • BARRICADES

    DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES!

The contractor will move them once pavement passes testing and can withstand vehicle weights.

  • WORKER SAFETY

    BE PREPARED TO STOP!

Slow down and give workers extra room. Drive cautiously through the jobsite especially If workers are on site.
