Project Description

This project will encompass the Fairfield Terrace/Belmont Neighborhood Association and will reconstruct and re-profile McClellan Street from Paulding Road to Pettit Avenue. The street will be converted from its existing chip and seal to asphalt pavement with Type "I-B" rolled concrete curbs and gutters. As part of this project there will also be upgrades to the storm sewer infrastructure to alleviate sidewalk flooding along McClellan Street.

  • New 2' rolled concrete curb and gutter (Type "I-B")
  • New 5' wide concrete sidewalks
  • 6" subsurface drainage
  • New storm laterals, storm structures, storm inlets and castings
  • New concrete residential drive approaches
  • New concrete alley approaches
  • Placing topsoil and grass seed once project is completed
  • Expect traffic delays due to the possible closure of either portions of McClellan St. or the entire length of McClellan St. from Paulding to Pettit. Local traffic will be permitted for those that live on McClellan and need driveway access.
  • Driveways will be inaccessible during removal and pouring of new concrete drive approach. Depending on weather, this can last upwards of three (3) weeks or more. Do not drive on newly poured concrete approaches until such time that the contractor has removed restricted access items (caution tape, barricades or barrels) as doing so will weaken the concrete potentially damaging it. It will be the homeowner's responsibility to repair damages to the drive approach if driven on early.
  • Drive slowly and cautiously through the job site, especially if/when the contractor is on-site working.
  • It will be dusty, dirty and noisy.
  • Do not move barricades or cut caution tape. The contractor is responsible for removing them once it is acceptable for the new concrete to be driven on. Moving barricades or barrels and/or disturbing cordoned-off areas is cause for fines to be levied against the offender per City Ordinance 99.007.
  • Trash bins will be picked up at a yet to be determined location - possibly along side streets or alleys.
  • Once the topsoil, grass seed and mulch is applied it will be the homeowner's responsibility to water the restoration areas to ensure proper, adequate grass growth.

Before Construction

  • PAY ATTENTION

    AVOID DISTRACTIONS!

Be aware of all signage and reduced speeds. Avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating/drinking, and radio.

  • BARRICADES

    DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES!

The contractor will move them once pavement passes testing and can withstand vehicle weights.

  • WORKER SAFETY

    BE PREPARED TO STOP!

Slow down and give workers extra room. Drive cautiously through the jobsite especially If workers are on site.
