Project Description
The new playground at McMillen Park offers new equipment, a new accessible trail that connects to the rest of McMillen Park and City sidewalks, a well-defined playground border, and new safety surfacing. Together, these features round out a brand-new play experience that is both accessible and inclusive. The playground and park are near the Greater McMillen and Rudisill Plaza neighborhoods.
Today, the playground offers many activities to keep users busy and having fun. The new equipment provides activities including climbing, sliding, swinging, and a range of balance activities, as well as opportunities for rocking and spinning. Imaginative play is available throughout, and children have plenty of opportunities for fun with friends or on their own.
The new inclusive equipment is tailored to support the physical, social, and emotional development of children ages 2-12 and is accessible for all abilities, ensuring every child can play and learn. Ample, shaded seating is available for parents and caregivers to supervise play.
