Project Description

The Packard Park Redevelopment is now complete.

The project, which follows nearly seven years of park planning and public input from the highly engaged surrounding neighborhoods, was opened to the public on July 31, 2025.

Ground was broken with Mayor Sharon Tucker on November 12, 2024. The project, which cost approximately $1.9 million to complete, was made possible through a combination of public and private funding, including the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the Investing in Neighborhoods Now Grant (INN).

The redesigned Packard Park includes:

  • Two new playgrounds: one for preschool and one for elementary school-age kids.
  • An event lawn and event plaza.
  • Significant landscaping improvements, including planting shade and ornamental trees.
  • A 1/8-mile perimeter walking path and new pedestrian connections to the neighborhood.
  • New pedestrian connections to the nearby neighborhoods.

The park retained:

  • Existing covered, open-air pavilion and restrooms.
  • Beasley Outdoor Futsal Courts were installed in 2018.
