Project Description

The Pettit Rudisill Concrete Rehabilitation project is Phase IV of a multi-phase transportation improvement project in the Pettit-Rudisill Neighborhood in Southeast Fort Wayne. This includes Holton Avenue from Capitol Avenue to Senate Avenue, and Reed Street from Capitol Avenue to McKinnie Avenue.

After Construction

  • ADA curb ramps
  • New curbs
  • Subsurface drainage
  • Isolated sidewalk repairs
  • Closing gaps where they exist in the sidewalk
  • Placing topsoil and grass seed when the project is completed
  • One side of the road will be open to traffic but may be blocked by construction equipment or vehicles for intermitted periods.
  • Drive approaches will be inaccessible on the side of the street that is being worked on. Depending on weather, this can range from 3 weeks or more.
  • Drive slowly and cautiously through the job site, especially when the contractor is on site working
  • It will be dirty and dusty.
  • Do not move barricades, the contractor will move them and open the road to traffic when it is acceptable to be driven on.
  • The contractor will not water the grass seed. It will be the homeowner’s responsibility to water the grass seed to ensure proper and adequate growth.
  • On trash day, place trash/ recycle bins on the side of the street that is not being worked on
  • PAY ATTENTION

    AVOID DISTRACTIONS!

    Be aware of all signage and reduced speeds. Avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating/drinking, and radio.

  • BARRICADES

    DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES!

    The contractor will move them once pavement passes testing and can withstand vehicle weights.

  • WORKER SAFETY

    BE PREPARED TO STOP!

    Slow down and give workers extra room. Drive cautiously through the jobsite especially If workers are on site.
