International Artist, Sasha Primo, to Create Permanent Public Artwork for the Harvester Neighborhood

The Public Art Commission (PAC) is excited to welcome international artist, Sasha Primo, as the lead artist for the SHOUT-OUT: Fort Wayne Series I Phase II project in the Harvester Neighborhood.

He has an exceptional ability to engage communities through thoughtful, participatory art practices—along with his refined aesthetic approach and international perspective—which makes Primo an ideal collaborator for this initiative. The City and SHOUT-OUT Committee have been particularly impressed with his commitment to social connection and sensitivity to place-based storytelling through public art in cities around the world.

The SHOUT-OUT Selection Committee reviewed several artists’ submissions in response to the request for proposals for the position. Primo's exemplary and diverse collection of work in community building, abilities across several artwork mediums, and performance in a wide range of cultural landscapes stood out, which is why he was selected to lead the project.

This project will continuously evolve and will be developed in close collaboration with local residents and stakeholders. Primo will work alongside the SHOUT-OUT: Fort Wayne Project Manager throughout the process.

The City and the PAC are proud to support this collaboration and look forward to the positive impact this project will have on the Harvester community. The City and PAC stand fully committed to working with residents and Sasha in supporting the realization of this important artistic contribution to the Neighborhood and to the City of Fort Wayne.
