Project Description
Fort Wayne's Southeast Corridors Project, funded by USDOT RAISE grant, focuses on revitalizing 8.9 miles of urban corridors in Fort Wayne's southeast area. The project covers key roadways such as S. Anthony Boulevard and E. Paulding Road, aiming to address multimodal transportation needs, improve infrastructure and foster sustainable development in a historically disadvantaged community.
The scope includes creating a comprehensive corridor plan with elements such as:
- Bicycle and pedestrian connectivity
- EV and smart technology integration
- Transit access improvements
- Resilient infrastructure design
- Public engagement and equitable development
This Project will enhance safety, connectivity and economic growth while promoting sustainability and community involvement. The timeline for the planning project spans from early 2025 to late 2026.
