Project Description
Village Premier is a vibrant, inclusive community project set to revitalize 20 acres in Southeast Fort Wayne. The vision is to create a welcoming, walkable neighborhood for everyone. The project aims to be spaced over a few separate phases.
The initial phase offers 208 workforce housing units, made possible through the 4% RHTC program. These homes will cater to individuals and families earning between 50% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Future phases will bring even more to the community, including 65 affordable housing units for seniors, designed to accommodate residents who earn between 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income. Plus, Village Premier will add 12 single-family homes for sale alongside commercial spaces that will house essential services like a clinic and an early childhood learning center, as well as other businesses and shops for the neighborhood.
Once the project is complete, Village Premier will breathe new, exciting life into the community. The space will provide additional public spaces, essential amenities, and a diverse range of housing options, ensuring that everyone can find their place in the neighborhood.

Meridian Health
Recognized as a vital component of the 2020 Southeast Development Strategy, the new 9,800-square-foot medical clinic will provide primary care, behavioral health, a pharmacy, and additional services. Meridian also has other offices in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area that can help give Village Premier residents additional access to specialty care for pediatrics, family dentistry, psychiatry, substance use disorders, and more. Meridian Health Services has been providing health care for nearly 50 years. Its holistic approach combines physical, mental, and social well-being to help individuals achieve their best health.
The health clinic in the area of Joshua Lane and McKinnie Avenue marks a significant next step in the Village Premier development project, representing a $4.5 million investment and affording underserved individuals and families access to a wide variety of health services who may otherwise not receive it. Meridian annually provides over $4.2 million in charity care and serves over 47,000 patients throughout Indiana. Construction is expected to be complete in Spring 2025.
