After an initial round of community input, the Parks and Recreation Department has developed a conceptual plan for improvements to Wells Street Park, located at 404 3rd St.

Measuring 0.11 acres, the park offers a small open space with benches in the midst of the Wells Street commercial district, at the intersection of Wells and Third Streets.

The proposed improvements include:

• Plaza with tables and chairs for outdoor dining
• Low retaining wall with opportunity for art and/or sign from the old Fire House #6
• Open green space for events
• Improved landscape using native plants

The Parks and Recreation Department is asked for comments on the proposed design from the surrounding neighborhood via a digital survey. The public comment has now closed.

Once comments have been received, a design firm will be hired to finalize the design and complete construction documents for the proposed improvements.
