The Project

In the Fall of 2023, Shout-Out: Fort Wayne began working closely with the neighborhood associations of the historic Harvester and East Central neighborhoods. Each neighborhood, through the project, completes two phases of art exhibitions: temporary (Year One) and permanent (Year Two) installations. Community activities are also created to generate interest for both phases.

Local Filmmaker and Creative Director William Bryant Rozier, Shout-Out: Fort Wayne’s Project Manager, collaborates with the associations the residents of the neighborhood to create the projects.


Community Activities

Artist Brandon Coley collaborated with the kids at the Albert G. Jennings Recreation Center on an activity book, using their stories and art as content. Project Manager William Bryant Rozier worked with East Wayne Street Center Executive Director Reppard Horne on two Creative Job Fairs with neighborhood businesses and artists in a more causal networking setting.


Narrative Street Banners

Artist Brandon Coley, having collaborated with the East Central neighborhood, drew a series of a narrative street banners that will be installed around three hubs of the area: The Jennings Center, Hanna Homestead Park, and the African/African-American Historical Society & Museum.

The statement words, conceived by East Wayne Street Center Executive Director Reppard Horne, outlines the steps for creating deep legacy in a community. Project Manager William Bryant Rozier also produced an oral history about East Central that can be accessed through the FM radio dial, once the banners are installed.
