The Project
In the Fall of 2023, Shout-Out: Fort Wayne began working closely with the neighborhood associations of the historic Harvester and East Central neighborhoods. Each neighborhood, through the project, completes two phases of art exhibitions: temporary (Year One) and permanent (Year Two) installations. Community activities are also created to generate interest for both phases.
Local Filmmaker and Creative Director William Bryant Rozier, Shout-Out: Fort Wayne’s Project Manager, collaborates with the associations the residents of the neighborhood to create the projects.
Community Activities
Shout-Out: Fort Wayne co-produced the Harvester neighborhood's move night with a night of superheroes on screen and from the community in the form of the family-centered nonprofit organization in attendance. For Harvester's main project, a documentary about renewing the neighborhood's identity, the film utilized volunteer photographers to be used in the film. Footage from the movie night was also rolled into the documentary.
Documentary
Filmmaker John Burkett directed and edited a 13-minute documentary from a story written by Project Manager and Producer William Bryant Rozier, using the themes of identity of memory. Students from local Adams Elementary provided art used in the film. The film debuted at the Allen County Public Library downtown branch and was also showcased at the 2025 Hobnobben Film Festival in Fort Wayne.
Permanent Exhibit (Workshop)
In October 2025, Argentinian artist Sasha Primo spent a week in Fort Wayne meeting residents and public art officials to collect feedback to help create Harvester’s installation, culminating in a workshop held at McCormick Park on the 25th.
