Project Description

Bloomingdale Park has received new playground equipment, synthetic turf safety surfacing and a playground border. The playground was provided by Sinclair Recreation and was manufactured by GameTime. The “Double Agent” combination playground structure provides hours of play opportunity. The new additions enhance the variety of playground activities available to children, including climbing, sliding, swinging, and a range of balance activities. The play equipment includes bongos, a Braille panel, thundering panel, river rock climber, and swerve slide, just to mention a few. Additionally, two swing bays will include an expression swing, tot swing and belt swings.

The new inclusive equipment is tailored to support the physical, social, and emotional development of children ages 2-12 and is accessible for all abilities, ensuring every child can play and learn. Parents and caregivers can enjoy as they supervise from the comfort of the existing seat-back benches on the playground. An improved accessible path is now open from the parking lot to the playground, as well.

Located north of Downtown Fort Wayne, the park includes ample parking, a basketball court, the Rivergreenway trail and open play space.
